EVANGELISM – Pr. 18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Dan. 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Jn. 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 4:37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. 4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labor: other men labored, and ye are entered into their labors.

Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
Jn. 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Not everyone whom we minister to will respond, but we must do God’s work/will!
What is evangelism?
Evangelism is the sharing of Jesus Christ with those who don't know Him, for the purpose of winning souls to God, who would probably spend eternity in hell if such direct efforts were not taken to reach them with the Gospel.
Evangelism is the ministering of The Gift of God - Eternal Life through Jesus Christ which also results in the freeing of captives, giving hope to those in despair, direction to the lost, life to the dead and dying, peace to those who are tormented, prosperity to the poor, healing the sick, etc.
Evangelism is
giving others what they desperately need -
what you have -
Jesus Christ
What evangelism is not!
Evangelism is not the inviting of others to come to you to learn about Jesus, and it is not about the sharing of all the good things of the Gospel exclusive of salvation through our Lord's sacrifice at Calvary.
Who should do it?
If we are Christians then we are his sheep (Jn.10:14, 27). - Sheep beget sheep
Christians are members of Christ's body (Rom. 8, I Cor. 12, Eph. 5), and Jesus is the head of the body! He uses us to tell others about Him!
Jn. 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. Jesus went to Heaven after His resurrection, and now we are the light to God through Jesus!
Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (1 Chr.28:14 He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service: 1 Chr.28:15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick. - we are all different )
II Cor. 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is liberty.
3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the
Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
II
Cor. 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe
not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them.
4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your
servants for Jesus’ sake.
4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined
in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the
face of Jesus Christ.
Perhaps the thought of evangelism makes you nervous, because “I don’t know the Bible well enough!” Read I Cor. Chapters 1& 2. You don’t need to know a lot – Just Jesus Christ and Him Crucified!
THE THREE EXAMPLES OF THE USE OF “evangelist” in Scripture:
Acts 21:8 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.
Eph.4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
II Tim.4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
II Cor. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Matt. 13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
13:2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he
went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the
shore.
13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a
sower went forth to sow;
13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls
came and devoured them up:
13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and
forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
13:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they
had no root, they withered away.
13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked
them:
13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an
hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
13:9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto
them in parables?
13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to
know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not
given.
13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more
abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away
even that he hath.
13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By
hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall
see, and shall not perceive:
13:15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of
hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they
should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should
understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should
heal them.
13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they
hear.
13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men
have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen
them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard
them.
13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth
it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which
was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way
side.
13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that
heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when
tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he
is offended.
13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the
word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches,
choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth
the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Mrk 4:3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4:4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and
the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
4:5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and
immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
4:6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no
root, it withered away.
4:7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked
it, and it yielded no fruit.
4:8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up
and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and
some an hundred.
4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
4:10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve
asked of him the parable.
4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of
the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these
things are done in parables:
4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may
hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted,
and their sins should be forgiven them.
4:13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then
will ye know all parables?
4:14 The sower soweth the word.
4:15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but
when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away
the word that was sown in their hearts.
4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who,
when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with
gladness;
4:17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time:
afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s
sake, immediately they are offended.
4:18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the
word,
4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the
lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh
unfruitful.
4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear
the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some
sixty, and some an hundred.
Luke 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by
the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air
devoured it.
8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it
withered away, because it lacked moisture.
8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and
choked it.
8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an
hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that
hath ears to hear, let him hear.
8:9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might
not see, and hearing they might not understand.
8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil,
and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should
believe and be saved.
8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word
with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in
time of temptation fall away.
8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have
heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures
of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good
heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with
patience.

you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 16:15 And he (Jesus) said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature. (Ps. 22:27 All the ends
of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of
the nations shall worship before thee. - - because

end come.)
Luke 24:46,47 And (Jesus) said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Warnings to evangelize
Ez. 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Ez. 33:1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
33:2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them,
When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take
a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
33:3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the
trumpet, and warn the people;
33:4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not
warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be
upon his own head.
33:5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood
shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his
soul.
33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the
trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take
any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but
his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
33:7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house
of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn
them from me.
33:8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die;
if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that
wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at
thine hand.
33:9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if
he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou
hast delivered thy soul.
33:10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus
ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and
we pine away in them, how should we then live?
33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in
the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and
live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O
house of Israel?
33:12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people,
The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day
of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall
not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness;
neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in
the day that he sinneth.
33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he
trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his
righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that
he hath committed, he shall die for it.
33:14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn
from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed,
walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall
surely live, he shall not die.
33:16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto
him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely
live.
Matthew 25: 14-30. 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 25:15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. 25:16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 25:17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 25:18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. 25:19 After a long time the Lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 25:20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 69 25:21 His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. 25:22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. 25:23 His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 25:26 His Lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Matt. 5:14 Ye are the light of the world.
Jn.12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Rom.10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Isa.52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!)
Scriptures for Salvation
The following Scriptures are given to show you what the Bible says about mankind's need for Salvation; whether you haven't given your life to Jesus, repented of your sins, asked Him to forgive you, and be Lord of your life; or you want to become more effective in your witnessing for the Lord.
II Tim 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" It is essential that you understand that the following not just any old writings or philosophy, but God's Word.
Our Need God's Answer
Spiritual Death |
John 3:3,5-7 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.... Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." Why? Gen 1:26,27 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..... So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." - 3 parts - spirit, soul, body; (1 Th 5:23) - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Gen 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Num 23:19 "God is not a man, that he should lie..." Heb 6:18 ".....in which it was impossible for God to lie....." If God cannot lie, and Adam & Eve ate that fruit and lived, and walked, and talked, and thought for many years; what died that day? Answer: their spirit - that part of them which was made to have NATURAL communication with God. Rom 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" - You can only reproduce what you have - see Jn.3:7 above. Rom 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Rom 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Isa. 9:17 Therefore the LORD shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.) Rev 3:20 " Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door ( our part ) , I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." How? By the Holy Spirit (Jn.14:17; I Cor.3:16; I Cor.6:19). Then you can start to have natural communication with God. After all, that is what you do when you have company for supper. John 1:12,13 " But as many as received him ( our part ), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." |
Salvation only in Jesus |
John 3:17,18 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him ( our part ) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Acts 4:12 " Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." |
Certainly not earned by our good works, but by God's grace |
Eph 2:8,9 "For by grace (of God) are ye saved through faith (our part); and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." James 2:10,11 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law." Lev 5:17 "And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he knows it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity." To sin unknowingly is still sin. |
Jesus Sinless |
Heb 4:14,15 "..... Jesus the Son of God..... was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." 1 Pet 1:19 ".... Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" 1 Pet 2:21,22 "..... Christ also suffered for us..... Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:" |
Jesus paid the price for OUR sin |
Heb 9:22 "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." Heb 9:26,28 "For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself..... So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many....." 1 Pet 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." |
How much God Loves and Values YOU!!! |
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (trusts, clings to, relies on) in him (our part) should not perish, but have everlasting life." 1 Pet 1:18,19 "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold.... But with the precious blood of Christ..... " The object which you purchase is always more valuable to you than the price you payed for it, or you wouldn't have bought it - God the Father knew you even before the foundation of the world and the price which He would have to pay for you.... He sent Jesus to pay the price with His Blood !!!! |
Repentance |
Luke 13:1-5 "There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent (our part), ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent (our part), ye shall all likewise perish." Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;" James 4:8-10 "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." 2 Pet 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." |
to believers |
Rev 2:5 "Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent." Rev 3:2,3 "Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee." Rev 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." |
Confession of Jesus |
Prov 28:13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Mark 8:38 "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." Also Luke 9:26 Rom 10:9, 10; 13 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead (our part), thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation...... For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins (our part), he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 4:15 "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God." |

Mat 12:50 "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." Also Mark 3:35 Heb 5:9 "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life (our part): and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. |

II Chr 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways (our part); then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Heb 10:17 "And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 10:27-29 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." |

Luke 13:25-28 "When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out." II Cor 6:2 "(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured (to help, aid, relieve) thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)" Mark 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" |
How to go about it
The use of Scripture cannot be overemphasized “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Heb. 4:12
“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his
name.” Jn. 20:31
Jesus is the only answer for the unsaved, so stick to Jesus! Jesus said, “And I, if I be lifted <G5312> up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” Jn. 12:32 ( some would say that this verse does not mean to lift Jesus up in evangelism, because He was only using that phrase to foretell the method of His death – see verse 33. However, the definition of the Greek word translated ‘lifted’ has two meanings: <G5312> hoop-so’-o; from (5311); to elevate (literal or figurative): — exalt, lift up. So, it actually means both lift Him up literally, and lift Him up by exalting and telling of His story. Bottom line, keep lifting Him up! )
Paul said, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” I Cor. 2:2 “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. II Cor. 4:5
Make it understandable! Matt. 13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Eph. 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Don’t get off track, again, stick to Jesus…. Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Don’t attack the evangelee’s false doctrines – that will only cause him to his own guns in defense! Watch over your words and actions… II Cor. 6:3 Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
CLOSE: When you have presented the Gospel as well as you can do, you can as say something like “Now if you would like to turn your life over to Jesus completely and make Him your Lord and Savior, I will be happy to lead you in a simple prayer.” If they have any objections they will let you know now, and you can answer specific questions. Don’t feel that you shouldn’t PUSH the subject… the evangelee’s eternity may very well rest upon how you deal with him. Sometimes they want to know just how serious you are about this. Do you really believe this, or are you really concerned about my soul? Acts 18:4 And he (Paul) reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. 19:8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
Pr.11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls
is wise.
Jn.4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. Jn.4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. Jn.4:37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. Jn.4:38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. Jn.4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. Jn.4:40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. Jn.4:41 And many more believed because of his own word; Jn.4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world. ( And he that reapeth receiveth wages ) ( many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified - And many more believed because of his own word – NOT ALL WILL BELIEVE DUE TO YOUR TESTIMONY, BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL USE YOUR TESTIMONY TO DRAW THEM TO HIM THAT THEY WILL BELIEVE HIM ! )
I Cor.15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
