Hour – watch

Time to God is not the same as it is for us!  For to God the past is the same as the present and the future – see   Isa. 57:15 below.

Ps. 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

God usually talks about the future in future tense.  In Deuteronomy 32:15-21, God is talking to Moses about the future as though it has already happened.

Deut. 32:15 But Jeshurun (Israel) waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

32:16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

32:21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

Rev.10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

Rev. 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast

them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which

was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was

born.

12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the

Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out

into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation,

and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his

Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused

them before our God day and night.       Past or Present ?

12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Ez. 4:4 Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of

Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt

lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.

4:5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to

the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt

thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

4:6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side,

and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I

have appointed thee each day for a year.

WE HAVE (get) ONLY SO MUCH of it!

Jn. 11:7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.

11:8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone

thee; and goest thou thither again(Jesus knew that He had to do things while He still had time here to do it!)

11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man

walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this

world.

11:10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no

light in him.

DIFFERENT WORDS USED FOR TIMES:

Dan. 4:13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a

watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

4:14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his

branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts

get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

4:15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a

band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be

wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts

in the grass of the earth:

4:16 Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be

given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.  (seven times = seven years)

7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken

away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

WEEKS (of years)

Dan. 9:21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom

I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly

swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

9:22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am

now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

9:23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came

forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved:

therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy

city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to

make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting

righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to

anoint the most Holy.

9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the

commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah

the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the

street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but

not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall

destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with

a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in

the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation

to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make

it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall

be poured upon the desolate.

Ecc 3

3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under

the heaven:

3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to

pluck up that which is planted;

3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to

dance;

3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

3:9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboreth?

3:10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to

be exercised in it.

3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God

maketh from the beginning to the end.

3:12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and

to do good in his life.

3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good

of all his labor, it is the gift of God.

3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing

can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that

men should fear before him.

3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already

been; and God requireth that which is past.

3:16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that

wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

3:17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

Isa.57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
