Deut. 17:18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

Josh. 13:1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said

unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth

yet very much land to be possessed.

Ps. 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened

me.

Ps. 147:17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his

cold?

147:18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind

to blow, and the waters flow.

147:19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments

unto Israel.

147:20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments,

they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

Ps. 148:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise

him in the heights.

148:2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

148:3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

148:4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the

heavens.

148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and

they were created.

Pr. 6:20 My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

6:21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

6:22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life

Pr. 13:13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth

the commandment shall be rewarded.

Pr. 22:17 Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply

thine heart unto my knowledge.

22:18 For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall

withal be fitted in thy lips.

22:19 That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this

day, even to thee.

22:20 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and

knowledge,

22:21 That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth;

that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto

thee?

Isa. 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame

consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their

blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law

of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of

Israel.

Isa. 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:  40:7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.  (VS 8 is already on the index page:) 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Mt. 22:31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that

which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

Lk. 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

Jn. 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words

that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Jer 9:6    Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD. 23    Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24   But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Jer. 20:7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me. 8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.  9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Jer. 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

II Pet. 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

1:17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

II Pet.1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

II Pet.1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (now look closely at this and see what Peter was saying.  In verses 16-18 Peter heard the voice from Heaven saying ‘This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’  Yet, Peter said ‘We have also a more sure word of prophecy.’  In other words, the scriptures of old take precedence over what we experience or are taught!

I Thess. 5:27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

Titus1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

BLESSINGS FOR THE NATION WHEN GOD’S WORD IS TAUGHT

II Chr.   17:1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.    2 And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.    3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;   4 But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.    5 Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.    6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.    7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.    8 And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.    9 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.    10 And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.    11 Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats.    12 And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store.    13 And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem.
