Spirits

I John 4

4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they

are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the

world.

4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that

Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the

flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye

have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the

world.

4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because

greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the

world heareth them.

4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of

God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the

spirit of error.

4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one

that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God

sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live

through him.

4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and

sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God

dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he

hath given us of His Spirit.

4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be

the Savior of the world.

4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God

dwelleth in him, and he in God.

4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.

God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God

in him.

God:

Father of spirits

Heb.12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Holy Spirit

The Spirit of God – The Spirit of Christ

Spirit of man

Body, soul, spirit

Zech.12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

I Thess.5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Unclean spirits

Lk. 11:14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to

pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people

wondered.

11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub

the chief of the devils.

11:16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom

divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided

against a house falleth.

11:18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom

stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

11:19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast

them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the

kingdom of God is come upon you.

11:21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in

peace:

11:22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome

him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and

divideth his spoils.

11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with

me scattereth.

11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through

dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return

unto my house whence I came out.

11:25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

11:26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked

than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of

that man is worse than the first.
