Sabaoth Not Sabbath

 

Isa.6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

Isa.6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

Isa.6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.  <H6635>    tsaba', tsaw-baw'; or (feminine) tsbadah, tsebaw- aw'; from 6633; a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. organized for war (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship): — appointed time, (+) army, (+) battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon, war(-fare).  (the LORD of hosts referred over 230 times in OT)

 

James 5

5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.

5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

5:4 Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.  <G4519> sab-ah-owth’; of Hebrew origin <H6635> (tsaba’) in feminine plural]; armies; sabaoth (i.e. tsebaoth), a military epithet of God: — sabaoth.

 

Rom.9:29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
