Jobs Friend Quoted OT and NT
Though there is wisdom in much of Job’s friend’s statements, God’s opinion was that their assessment of God was wrong!
Job 42:7 And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
**************** Job 4:1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,… Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: 5:18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

Ps. 94:12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
94:13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Pr. 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

33:18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
33:19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
33:20 So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
33:21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

33:27 He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;

33:30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
